Wow. 4500 hp for the northbound local passenger? Where is this, maybe north of Canyon? A shared local and tour run, and they’ve left some cars there? Or possibly a power move? Interesting, anyway. Thanks for posting!
Slide mount is labelled “near Heyden”, date is July 1972; the Canyon Tour Train wasn’t regularly run as a separate train at this point. Cars were dropped and picked up by nos. 1/2. Extra engines ran through to Hawk Jct.
Other photos from this set facing the other way show quite a few more cars following, which would be dropped at Canyon. The heavyweight baggage car would also soon be replaced and retired to work service.
