{"id":505,"date":"2013-10-25T23:27:40","date_gmt":"2013-10-26T03:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/?p=505"},"modified":"2016-10-27T10:55:51","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T14:55:51","slug":"basic-underframe-for-ac-300","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/2013\/10\/25\/basic-underframe-for-ac-300\/","title":{"rendered":"Basic Underframe for AC 300"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sat down again to this project for a while this evening.<\/p>\n<p>I managed to file down the back of the skirting on the &#8220;A&#8221; end of the car and glue the side back into the end to repair the <a title=\"Shortened Frame and the Flaw in my Plan\" href=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/?p=501\">earlier damage<\/a>. The floor piece is now able to manuever past the skirting and set into the body. (It&#8217;s just dry-fit for now.)<\/p>\n<p>I admit I&#8217;m not a total expert to everything that&#8217;s going on under passenger cars, and there&#8217;s a lot of variation from car to car. Also I don&#8217;t have any really nice close-up detail photos of the bottoms of these two cars. Based on the reference photos I do have, I tried to replicate the general outline of what&#8217;s under there using the Train Station Products passenger car detail set, which includes a variety of tanks and boxes and other details.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/IMG_8465.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-506\" alt=\"IMG_8465\" src=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/IMG_8465-500x333.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/IMG_8465-500x333.jpg 500w, https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/IMG_8465-449x300.jpg 449w, https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/IMG_8465.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not the most super-detailed underframe, but starting to at least represent the profile of the real thing. I plan on adding at least some piping to represent the air brakes and electrical connections underneath. It&#8217;s not going to be 100% accurate, but at least it should have the general impression of the thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sat down again to this project for a while this evening.
