To represent the proper shape of the eaves, I built them up out of styrene strip. The core is a 4&#215;12 strip on edge forming the base of the protruding eave, with a 1&#215;12 laminated on top to achieve a proper thickness and cover the joints between the larger strip.<\/p>\n<p>To represent the decorative edging, fascia strips of 1&#215;6 and 1&#215;3 are added around the outside edge after the main core is built up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3309\" src=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/vanderheide.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/019.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Starting to look a bit more like the drawings and photos, but still much more to do&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Wawa station build keeps moving forward with the detailing of the structure.
